No-KYC crypto prop firms: what the rules actually say

The claim is commoner than the term. Here is where each firm actually draws the identity line: before the payout at seven, before activation at thirteen and no published policy at one firm.

At every firm here a document is collected before the money leaves. Upscale's own site answers the KYC question with “No. Upscale does not require identity verification when you buy a challenge or when you request a payout”. Section 6 of its Terms of Use, last updated 15 May 2026, requires a copy of the passport photo page and a live selfie before any withdrawal, and holds the request in “Pending KYC” until it clears. The terms govern. Of the twenty-one firms here, seven verify before the first payout and thirteen before the funded account is activated and one publishes no identity policy at all; the table below records which, with what each firm says. If a site tells you a firm is fully KYC-free at payout, ask for the clause in the firm's own terms.

When each firm requires identity verification, per its published terms.
FirmVerification What the firm says
AquaFundedOpen account Not stated by firmNOT PUBLISHED, not 'none': the terms and conditions (~41,000 characters, two identical copies) contain no mention of KYC, identity, verification, passport or proof of address, and the help centre has no verification article. The payout rules list no identity step. Absence of a clause is not proof that documents are never requested.
E8MarketsOpen account Before activationVerification gates use of the service, not only withdrawal: unverified users cannot access challenge credentials after purchase or receive the performance account after passing.
HyroTraderOpen account Before activationVerification is a step to unlock the funded account, not a payout gate; the same FAQ lists 'KYC & Agreement' before 'Connect Your Funded Account'. Applies to Hyro Instant too.
Blue GuardianOpen account Before payoutA further live KYC/AML check can run during payout review. Challenge accounts are not gated, and the terms contain no KYC clause.
Breakout Prop FirmOpen account Before activationNot needed to buy or trade an evaluation; verification runs through SumSub from the dashboard and must clear before the funded account is enabled.
Kraken PropOpen account Before activationTwo tiers: email and country to buy and trade an evaluation, full identity verification to open the funded account and to be paid.
Funded Trader MarketsOpen account Before activationThe account is issued but read-only until verification clears, and must be completed within two weeks of passing.
ProprOpen account Before activationRules section 16. No documents to register or buy an evaluation, and no payout without completed KYC. No proof of address required.
City Traders ImperiumOpen account Before activationCorroborated by the firm's AML policy: full verification must be completed before any profit withdrawal or capital allocation, and failing it means you cannot proceed to the funded stage.
FundedNextOpen account Before activationHelp-centre article updated 31 July 2026. The typo 'docuemnt' is in the source.
MyFundedPerpsOpen account Before activationTheir own docs set the order: challenge passed, identity verification via Sumsub, customer agreement, funded account. Signup collects name and address only.
VelotradeOpen account Before activationGovernment photo ID plus proof of address dated within three months.
BitfundedOpen account Before payoutConditional: triggers at $10,000 cumulative profit, before further withdrawals. Below that threshold a payout can be taken without documents.
FundedbitOpen account Before activationfundedbit.com was under maintenance on 8 November 2026; this is from the firm's own help centre (article dated 7 September 2026).
Crypto Fund TraderOpen account Before payoutEvaluation runs without identity checks; KYC is done from the dashboard, Withdrawals section, once the simulated funded account is reached.
For TradersOpen account Before activationOne check for the life of the account. Instant and Pay After Pass defer it to the first reward request.
Instant FundingOpen account Before payoutTwo timings by product: Instant Funding accounts verify at payout, while One-Phase and Two-Phase challenge accounts verify on passing, before the funded account is enabled.
DNA FundedOpen account Before payoutGeneral terms 13.8, repeated in the Participant Verification Policy. Identity documents may be requested when opening an account, but only if asked - that is discretionary, not a gate.
FX2 FundingOpen account Before activationThe Instant Funding plan defers verification and the trader contract to the first withdrawal request.
FXIFYOpen account Before payoutTwo checks: FXIFY's own KYC, then a second with Rise, the payout provider. FXIFY: "You complete KYC when you reach the funded account. You must finish it before you request a payout."
UpscaleOpen account Before payoutCONFLICT ON THE FIRM'S OWN SITE: the binding Terms (section 6, 15 May 2026) require KYC before a withdrawal, while its FAQ and a dedicated no-KYC page say no documents are ever asked for. The Terms are recorded here; the discrepancy is theirs, not ours.

Why the distinction matters

"No KYC at signup" is a real feature and a common one: you can pay by crypto, trade the evaluation and never upload a document. It is also the claim most affiliate pages repeat as "no KYC firm", which is misleading, because the moment that matters is the one where money leaves the firm. A trader who needs anonymity at signup and a trader who needs anonymity at payout are asking two different questions, and only the first one is answered by a crypto deposit.

Why prop firms verify at all

Three reasons, in order of how often they are the real one: anti-money-laundering obligations that sit with the payment processors rather than the firm, fraud control on accounts opened with stolen cards or stolen identities, and preventing one trader from running multiple accounts under different names. A firm that skips verification entirely is not being generous - it is either small enough that no processor has asked yet, or it is not planning to be around when the payouts come due.

What a genuinely low-friction setup looks like

Realistically: pay the challenge in crypto, trade without documents, and complete verification once, before the first withdrawal, with a document that matches the name on the account. That is the pattern at seven of the twenty-one firms here, which verify before the first payout rather than before activation. It removes the signup friction without pretending the payout step does not exist.

The other pattern, used by thirteen of the twenty-one firms here, is verification before the funded account is activated. You know where you stand immediately, and there is no surprise at the payout stage, but there is no anonymous evaluation either.

How to check a firm's KYC policy yourself

  • Search the firm's terms and conditions for "KYC", "verification" and "identity" rather than reading the FAQ, which is written for marketing.
  • Look at the payout page: it usually names the documents required and the review time.
  • Ask support in writing when verification is triggered, and keep the reply. A verbal "no KYC" from a chat agent is not a term.
  • Check the restricted-country list at the same time - a firm that accepts your deposit and rejects your country at payout has effectively taken the fee.

Red flags in the no-KYC pitch

Be careful with firms that advertise "no KYC, no limits, instant payout" together. In this niche that combination usually signals a firm with no payment processor relationship, which means payouts depend entirely on the operator's goodwill in the week you ask. The absence of verification is not evidence of trustworthiness; with an unregulated counterparty it is the opposite, because it removes the record that would help you if the payout never arrives.

Common questions

Are there any truly no-KYC crypto prop firms?
No firm listed here is KYC-free. Every one verifies identity at some stage: seven before the first payout, thirteen before the funded account is activated and one publish no policy at all (AquaFunded). What varies is when the line is drawn, not whether it exists. A no-KYC line in a firm's FAQ is marketing, not a term.
Does a crypto deposit avoid KYC?
It usually avoids verification at signup, not at payout. Most firms verify identity before releasing profit, and the blockchain record of your deposit does not replace an identity check.
Can I use a VPN to get around a restricted country?
That is a breach of the firm's terms in every set of terms reviewed here, and it is grounds for cancelling an account and withholding profit. Choose a firm that accepts your country instead.
